Career Start is currently seeking a Service Technician in the Cortland/Ithaca/Dryden Area. The preferred candidate will have 2 plus years of experience working in grounds, maintenance or construction.
Shift: 10 hour days – Monday through Thursday – Flexible Schedule

- Complete work orders efficiently, adhering to established maintenance processes and procedures.
- Maintain and clean the property grounds, including collecting trash and preparing dumpsters for pickup.
- Execute routine preventive maintenance and follow the established preventive maintenance program.
- Track and manage inventory levels for materials and supplies.
- Supervise and ensure quality work performed by outside contractors when necessary.
- Perform interior and exterior repairs on park-owned mobile homes, including tasks like painting, repairing appliances, maintaining heating systems, light plumbing, skirting, doors, and windows.
- Diagnose and fix plumbing and electrical issues in mobile homes and underground systems.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained, in good working condition, and stored appropriately.
- Conduct regular property inspections to uphold community standards.
- Collaborate with the service team to foster teamwork and effective communication across all departments.
- High School Diploma, preferred
- Comfortable with outside work 80 – 90% of the time in all seasons
- Day travel amongst several communities
- 2+ years’ experience working in grounds, maintenance, or construction
- Must have a valid, clean Driver's license
- Organization and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage timelines
